Everything’s changed at Blue Ox Coffee in Downtown Westwood, now best known as Blue Ox Café & Bakery. Well, not everything has changed, they still have a huge menu of specialty drinks and of course fresh cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting and lots more including ice cream and milkshakes. The locals are excited about the breakfast and lunch menu the café has added. With seasonal menu changes, breakfast entrees include a full menu, from delicious omelets, house made potatoes and waffles to homemade biscuits and gravy. Folks keep coming back for more of their fresh made breakfast! Specialties like their Cali Avocado Toast (top left) and Strawberry Basil Bruschetta are big hits. Breakfast starters may include a Berries & Cream Biscuit and warm cornbread served with whipped honey butter. Lunch is great too with several exciting menu options including their already-famous Turkey Bacon Melt, French Dip, soup, salads and much more. They’ve also added more café-style seating (yes, there’s still wi-fi) and carry a wonderful selection of gift items, many from local vendors. Gourmet chocolates are made onsite now too, featuring a 175 year old chocolate recipe. They are located between Plumas Bank’s ATM building and the Dollar General on Birch Street in Downtown Westwood.
