Mountain Pride Mechanical is a family company. Owner, Fred Edwards has decades of experience. His wife Brenda runs the office and son, Andrew also helps in the company. Their daughter, Hillary teaches in Chester. The company offers a complete Heating & Cooling service including sales, service and maintenance. They also do duct cleaning.

Fred is also known for his craftsmanship with sheet metal, which is something he really enjoys. When he started his business, he was no stranger to his craft. His dad was a sheet metal man in Susanville, where Fred helped out since he was a kid. His work is stunning and completely custom.

Fred and his wife Brenda opened the business in 2005, which they operated from the Lake Almanor Peninsula for years until buying a nice building in Westwood in 2020. The new location has a large shop area, garage, and office, perfect to house their business and sheet metal shop.. and of course Izzie and Tilly (aka: Isabella and Matilda) their two Golden Retrievers who help Brenda run the office. Thelin Hearth Products’ Design Engineer is Robert Beck of Carson City has successfully engineered a heating system which could have the lowest carbon footprint in existence today, aside from the sun, that is. The Thelin website also states:
“It uses just 37 watts of electricity and will run continuously with a 60 watt solar charging system and 12v battery. The heater will operate for days on a 12v DC battery. Now that is a “green” heating system.”
