Holiday Ready At GL&L Smokehouse-Susanville

As the holidays near, smoked meats are in high demand. One Susanville company is ready. Featuring a large variety of the highest quality, great tasting smoked and marinated meats, GL&L Smokehouse is home of Lassen County’s original Basque Chorizo, says owner Ches Mallery, who co-operates the establishment with his wife Blayne.
The operation specializes in making hams and bacons onsite, boasting that, “we have the best bacon around!” Bacon comes in both thick sliced or thin.
Meat lovers can also bring in your own hams and bacons for custom processing. Hams are available with bone intact as well as boneless.
They also offer turkeys, game hens, and pork chops, all of which are already smoked and cooked, just heat them up for a quick and easy meal.
Venison and game meats can be brought in for custom processing as well.
In addition to awesome smoked and marinated meats, all of which are also prepared onsite, “We make our own fresh beef jerky in seven different flavors,” Mallery adds, plus they offer pepperoni sticks and a variety of sausages.
Moreover, GL&L Smokehouse offers marinated chicken breasts and thighs, seasoned pork ribs, and marinated tri-tips.
Meat products don’t end there to be sure. Customers will find three different kinds of hand-pressed 1/3 lb. hamburger patties, a number of different link sausages, and breakfast sausage patties, plus flavored beef snack sticks and more!
The Smokehouse offers delicious smoked tri-tip sandwiches and pulled pork at local farmers markets and events around the area. He says the sandwiches have been getting rave reviews.
During the holiday season the Mallery’s spend many hours preparing and making gift baskets filled with their delicious meats. Check their Facebook page around the end of November for this year’s gift baskets price list. Who wouldn’t love a basket filled with tasty meats for the holidays!
When customers stop in, why not “grab some of our famous bottles of our very own recipe ‘Last Chance’ seasoning too,” he suggests.

“Let us do the cooking,” proposes Mallery. We are now selling our smoked pulled pork and smoked tri-tip in bulk.” He requires two weeks notice and a 30 lb. minimum order. With the ever-changing prices of meat, call for current pricing. “You won’t be disappointed!”
