Lakeside Dining

Plumas Pines Bar & Grill is open for the season at Plumas Pines Resort on Lake Almanor. Nestled lakeside off Highway 89 near the Almanor Recreational Trail (a paved trail covering more than ten miles along the west shore). “The Pines” as it is called by many, is within walking distance of the Almanor Campground and boasts its own RV park, motel rooms and cabins. Along with a store, a full marina with boat and SeaDoo rentals, it has a beautiful restaurant with full bar. Plumas Pines is a complete resort and has a courtesy dock for those arriving by boat for a beverage or a meal.
Step inside Plumas Pines Bar & Grill and whether you take a seat at the bar or in the dining room, you will enjoy vast lake views from large picture windows lining the lakefront side of the building. Step outside where a large deck overlooks the lake. Plenty of tables and umbrellas make for a comfortable outside dining experience with unrivaled views.
A seat at the large, square bar inside is a great spot to catch up on the local fishing reports and meet others. Many locals and visitors to the area stop in for a visit often. On weekends in the summer you will find live music and dancing at The Pines. The place fills up with lots of travelers, campers and locals for a fun time that extends out onto the large decks.
At Plumas Pines Bar & Grill you will find your favorite meals for lunch and dinner, from juicy burgers and succulent rib-eye steaks to a grilled panini or specialty sandwich. The busy season brings more great dinner specials like Prime Rib and other chef specialties. Their Chef, Tasha McCormick is constantly updating the menu with new specials and entrees. Enjoy fresh cuts of meat, pasta dishes, chicken and seafood specials. A children’s menu is available. The dessert menu changes often with a variety of the chef’s favorites.
The restaurant is open seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Check their website for off-season hours when they also have a shorter menu; the resort is open May through October.
A tempting appetizer menu offers bar service. In fact, you can enjoy any entree from the menu in the bar, if you prefer. Just let the bartender know you need a menu. It does get quite busy at this perfectly-situated restaurant with amazing views. Dinner reservations are recommended to avoid long wait times.
The season ends with the end of October and their annual Halloween Bash. Check their website for full details on live music throughout the summer as the bands are booked.
Hosts, Todd and Brooke Geer invite you to take in the views while enjoying lunch or dinner and your favorite beverages or cocktails. Plumas Pines has a full bar. Their friendly staff is ready to serve you. They are located less than ten minutes from Chester.
