Locals and tourists alike truly enjoy hiking, biking and fishing all over Lassen and Plumas Counties. Did you know that you can embark on these adventures via the Lassen Transit bus system? Well, you can.

The West County Route offers access to the Bizz Johnson Trail at several locations, enabling riders to spend the day hiking. Mountain bikers are welcome as well. Simply load your bike into the rack on the bus and climb aboard. Primative camping is also allowed on BLM land along the “Bizz.”  Bring a small tent and backpack and spend a few days.

Three bus runs daily Monday-Friday allow you to catch the ride morning, afternoon or evening. Saturday runs are offered morning and evening.

Bicyclists and hikers can also hop the bus on the Susanville Route to explore miles of popular trails at Susanville Ranch Park. Whether you are in Susanville, Westwood, Chester or Lake Almanor, a connection is available to get you to your favorite local place of play. This route is also available Monday-Saturday with a slightly shorter Saturday schedule.

Fishermen throughout Lassen and Plumas Counties rave about their catches at Lake Almanor, Walker Lake, Eagle Lake and Hamilton Branch. Lassen Transit proudly offers service to all four of these angling hot spots. Every Saturday includes a special run to Eagle Lake just for the fun of it and services both ends of this famous fisherman’s paradise. Spend the day or an entire week. The bus will pick you up with your catch. Lake Almanor, Hamilton Branch, and Westwood are on the West County Route so take the bus fishing at either of these favorites Monday-Saturday.
